short time ago, a group of former students of mine had to go to photograph the new pedestrian bridge over the estuary Salado. That allowed me to access information about that photo-project by itself, would never have captured my interest.
Interestingly, moving in that cocaine cyber called "Facebook", I found a friend of mine has also seen a visual appeal to that bridge, and has taken some photos. In one of his photos, my friend wrote the title: "Guayaquil is progressing." Yes
Guayaquil progresses. I totally agree with that statement. But let's be clear: Guayaquil progress, despite works so weak and poorly planned, including a new pedestrian bridge Barcelona stadium.
bridge is a coward. Any bridge that use guy wires, but that has less vertical foundation is a COWARD BRIDGE, probably designed by an architect and an engineer capricious coward.
Fifteen years ago we had already a very bad precedent in the city. I refer to the bridge "El Velero" Aguirre street linking the Avenida Barcelona. Unlike Monumental Bridge, Sailboat Bridge, fails if you want to be a "bridge coward, but only a bridge and nothing effeminate. Its cables never had the intention to appear some kind of structural support. Just put them there "to make it look nice" . A few years ago, noted that decorative function of the cables, putting LED lighting on them, so that that bridge is an attraction for those who die from Guayaquil immortalize postcard photos . That is, recently, Sailboat Bridge "came out of the closet."
